Fall in love with FallForLocal Spring Pop Up Shop!
Yesterday, Sunday April 10th , I visited what I call “The Mother Of All Markets,” aka, the Fall for Local spring market held in North Vancouver. One of the many things I love about Vancouver when I moved here from Montreal, are the pop up shops. A round of applause to organizer, Kelly Turner for such a unique set up! The Fall for Local market was held in an enormous warehouse with floor to ceiling windows, exposed wood beams, decorated with lights and beautiful flower arrangements hanging and draped from the ceiling, with rows on rows of locally made items. Hand made goodies, from candles, honey, baby clothing, jewelry, leather handbags, furniture, Kombucha, tea, clothing etc… You name it; it was there. Looking for gifts/ need a gift idea? This is the place to get them! Being held on a Sunday, it’s the perfect way to spend a day with family or friends to shop around a bit and grab some lunch. This market had bohochic garden party vibe and community written all over it. I treated myself to cream from Nootka Naturals and a coconut lime candle from Alice & Hare. I probably walked around the entire room ten times always finding a new product to get excited about, or another vendor to chat to! Think about, you buy a delicious smelling candle or body cream and get to chat to the person who created it, and maybe even find out a story behind their product!! How cool is that?! Not to mention the amazing overflowing goody bag I received when I first walked in! Supporting small local businesses is so important and attending these pop up events reaffirms this. Oh, and did I mention they had a vintage chic lounge by Consortium (check it out) x Vancity Buzz lounge and a photo booth?! Look, I can go on and on; but I guess the only thing left is that net time you see Fall for Local event coming up , you best go and check it out its only $3 a ticket online, $5 at the door! I’m so happy I went, I would have definitely missed out on a beautiful venue and event if I didn’t go!
Thank you to SocialCityNetworking, and founder, Sara Mckenna for inviting me to take some photos!
There will be another FallforLocal market coming up soon! Keep yours eyes open! 🙂
