These videos continue to challenge and strengthen my body, they are fun and so effective leaving me feelings worked in the best way possible. I am on my fifth book this summer and this is one I am currently reading! The story is about high society people in a small community in Nantucket with a murder…. Ugh yes… reading books like this can sometimes be a guilty pleasure! I really hope you’ll love this book, fun eats and suspenseful!

SUMMER RECAP

The famous sentence in August, “the summer is going by so fast!”

It truly is…however in all honesty I’m  excited for fall.

New York City is H-O-T  in the summer! As incredible as NYC is, it feels like it wasn’t even summer here- just pure thick humid heat (but again, I love it here, so i'm here for it!). I am very ready for jeans, t-shirts and sweater weather, with a side fact that I have so many jeans (it’s my guilty pleasure purchase) and I can’t wait to wear all of them.

As I reflect on the last few months,the first thing that comes to my mind is that I’m proud of myself. Some personal stuff happened that wasn’t great, but I feel very resilient, strong and proud of myself for continuing to stay strong mentally and physically. 

I’m also really proud of myself for going to South Carolina with the excitement of staying there for work for most of August to teach at The Dunlin, a luxury resort part of the Auberge Hotel and Resort (these hotels are the most chic and Pinterest worthy locations to travel!!)  but the universe had other plans which ended up with me coming back toNYC because of hurricane Debby.  

I was disappointed… I was really looking forward it staying longer, but I know everything happens for a reason and it was quiet and adventure that reconnected me to confidence for solo traveling through the severe stressors of navigating how to get home through storms, with multiple canceled flights, misplaced baggage, overnight stays in a city anywhere away from a storm aka, Atlanta!

All this to say, my summer has definitely been an adventure filled with personal self-growth, and for the last few weeks of August I’m looking forward to giving/ allowing myself to take a few days off from clients to focus on being with family and nature! Please never forget to take time off, rest and listen to what you need!

I started doing workouts on Booty By Mich at the beginning of the pandemic after a friend’s recommendation. I’d been doing online workouts already for the first couple of months of being in lockdown but nothing ever stuck…until of course I found Mich. Since 2020, I’ve kept up with my BBM workouts, with little hiatus' here and there, and then whilst I was pregnant and the first 6 months or so of postpartum.

I was craving movement and longing to feel like myself again around the 6 month mark and Mich’s workouts were just what I needed to ease back into things - I started off with shorter, more flow-y workouts in the early days and eased my way up to the longer, more challenging workouts.

Today, I do a range depending on my mood and energy levels and of course, the time I have, but I love an intense 20-30 minute A.S.S Class or Full body, then paired with a short 5-10 arms or abs. Or on the weekends, I love a 30-40 minute Butter! I really look forward to waking a little earlier before my workdays to get 20-30 minutes of BBM - I roll out my mat in a small corner of our living room (or sometimes just next to my bed if it's in the evening), turn on our Noguchi Akari lamp my husband bought us for the home soon after my little boy arrived for a calming environment, take a few sips of warm water and I start. It’s a moment in my day for complete solitude, a time for myself and an opportunity to just be in the moment and to let my body move (no matter how long, short, gentle or intense the workout).

What I absolutely love about BBM is that Michelle has a kind and loving, yet inspiring approach to movement. She encourages you to be soft and gentle to yourself, but her workouts will leave you feeling strong and empowered. And most importantly, Mich has inspired me to have fun whilst working out - I end my BBM workouts feeling so happy and excited for the day and just life in general :) Thank you Mich!
