My holiday time is spent traveling back to Canada to be with family. Days are packed with running around doing errands, seeing people or just being at home with family lounging around, chatting, eating and being lazy. 

When being at home for the holiday it is CRUCIAL for me to get my “me time” and is my non-negotiable time with myself for 30 minutes of movement or stretching. This not only helps me be more present, mindful and my better self (for myself) for my family but my body and mind thank me for it. 

This is a plan to follow along to videos with minimal to no equipment needed to make movement and YOU time seamlessly fit into your day while still getting a stronger body and fresh mind. 

This incredible full rounded program with Butter flows focusing on flexibility, relaxation promotes good digestion, calms the nervous system and decreases inflammation in the body during the holiday business. Like I mentioned in the previous months, I’ve been switching up the book genre to more mystery/ thriller. I read quite a lot on our honeymoon, leaving some books in the library of hotels we stayed at for future visitors to stumble upon and read. This book I left in Seychelles, I LOVED IT! The second bookI am currently reading! It's quick witted, fast paced and written in the first person so I love getting a sense of the character!

I have been feeling more introspective during the holidays. Asking myself questions like I have presented to you (see journal prompts) moving into the new year.  Honestly, it's not always easy or comfortable to create time to check in with yourself, but it's important to. I have been feeling like some of my priorities are shifting and with that I am being kind and reminding myself that it's ok to feel what I am feeling as I explore new thoughts and feelings. 

Getting back from our three week honeymoon of travel, adventure and exploring was good for my soul. Being off my cell phone, getting workouts in for my mind and body 30 min a day for some “me-time” (BBM videos kept me motivated.. so easy to follow) in all these new hotel gyms involved more creativity for movement. I DEFINITELY did not exercise like I do when I am in my routine at home (and DEFINITELY are incredible desserts most nights with PLEASURE lol)  but damn, I am so proud of myself for continuing to move anyway I could for myself. 

I could show you all the pictures taken while we're away.. but it won't do justice to the beauty that we saw. I am a huge beach person and Brody wanted a Safari so we created a great combo of beaches (travelling to the Indian ocean!!) and bush time in South Africa. Communication and collaboration is key and worth it :)

THE CLEANSE END OF YEAR

Towards the end of the year I tend to be introspective asking myself what I need to “refresh” in my life moving into the new year. Yes, January 1, 2025 is just another day but it can be a day where little shifts in your world can be made that add up to something healthier in the long run.Here are three examples….

1. social media cleanse. What is coming up for you on social media you don’t feel happy or good seeing? It's ok to unfollow,mute, block etc… create space if it is not bringing you joy. Be selfish when it comes to your mental health and energy.

2. people. Do you have the feeling of maybe needing to take a bit more space from a friendship? THAT’S OK. It is deeply important to communicate that and honour that you need some time to think, reflect and come back to the friendship or relationship that feels more right for you. Space is healthy, I believe it actually helps you see what you need and want (sometimes it takes a bit more time, longer than you thought you needed but everything happens in time).

3. the closet cleanse. BYE BYE to the clothes you haven’t worn in awhile (or have never worn..guilty?) DONATE THEM. Every few months I'll open my closet just staring at the clothes looking at what I have, and if it doesn't bring me joy or a sense of excitement to wear it I donate to local shelters, churches, etc...I am not even wanting to create space for new things, I realize I am just wanting to have less. Having less is more and that excites me right now..
